1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your use of the Pip mobile application ('the App') and our website at pip.dog ('the Site', and together with the App, 'Pip' or 'the Service'), which are operated by Pet Starts Limited ('we', 'us', or 'our'). By downloading, accessing, or using the App or the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App or the Site. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects any rights you have under applicable law.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the App.

We may suspend or restrict your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, your use of the App creates a security risk, we are required to do so by law, or it is necessary to protect the App, our users, or third parties. The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, branding, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. This licence does not give you any ownership rights in the App or its content.

The App may rely on or integrate with third-party services, such as app store services, authentication providers, analytics providers, crash reporting providers, or payment and subscription providers. Your use of any third-party service may also be subject to that third party's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services except where we are required to be by law.

8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App may offer in-app purchases, including auto-renewing subscriptions. If you purchase a subscription or other digital product through the Apple App Store, payment will be processed by Apple, not by us. Your purchase will also be subject to Apple's applicable terms, conditions, and billing rules. Unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; the applicable fee will be charged to your Apple account; you can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store account settings. Any free trial, introductory offer, pricing, billing period, and renewal terms will be shown to you before you complete your purchase. Billing, renewals, and refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store are handled by Apple under its own terms and policies. If you have questions about your subscription, you can contact us at hello@pip.dog, but you may also need to contact Apple through your App Store account.

9. Availability, Changes, and Updates

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App from time to time. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may release updates to improve functionality, security, or compatibility. In some cases, you may need to install updates to continue using the App properly. Where practical, we will try to provide reasonable notice of material changes to the App.

10. Service Standards and Consumer Protections

If you are a consumer, we will provide the App with reasonable care and skill and as otherwise required by applicable law. Your statutory rights in relation to digital content and services remain unaffected by these Terms.

Not veterinary advice. The App and its content — including articles, tips, reminders, schedules, checklists, and tracking insights — are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not veterinary advice and are not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or care from a qualified veterinarian. Always consult a vet about your dog's health, and seek urgent veterinary attention in an emergency. You are responsible for the decisions you make about your dog's care.

Subject to clause 10 and to any rights you have under applicable law, the App is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the App will always be available or uninterrupted, free from bugs or errors, compatible with every device or operating system, or free from all harmful components. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or guarantee that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory rights as a consumer, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, business, or goodwill, or loss of data except where caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Subject to applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of £50 or the total amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, we reasonably believe your use of the App presents a security, legal, or operational risk, we are required to do so by law, or we discontinue the App. Where appropriate, we will try to give you reasonable notice. On termination, your right to use the App will stop immediately.

Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by appropriate means, such as through the App or by email. By continuing to use the App after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms. The 'Last updated' date at the top shows when these Terms were most recently updated.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. If you are not a consumer, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law says otherwise. You may also have the right to pursue a dispute through other consumer redress or alternative dispute resolution processes where available.
